Director of Youth Programs &
Assistant School Chaplain

St. Cyprian's Episcopal Church in Lufkin, TX is searching for a Director of Youth Programs/Assistant School Chaplain (DYP) to begin Summer 2010.

The primary responsibilities of the DYP are to:

  1. Develop, plan and implement a wide variety of youth-oriented spiritual and social activities for grades 6-12
  2. Develop age appropriate community outreach/mission opportunities
  3. Recruit, train, develop and deploy lay volunteers
  4. Maintain relationships with local and diocesan youth leaders
  5. Vision (with Rector and Head of School) and develop a model for comprehensive Faith Development in a school environment
  6. Develop and lead age/stage appropriate school chapel programs 3-4 days/week for pre-K through 5th grades

Minimum Qualifications

  1. Bachelor's degree (Education, Christian Education, Leadership or Youth Programming preferred)
  2. Baptized and confirmed member of the Episcopal Church
  3. Spiritual maturity and the ability to express a personal faith journey
  4. Proven leadership, pastoral care, communication and team building skills
